Getting Started
Install Honeyed Words Author Tracker from the Google Workspace Marketplace.
Open any Google Doc. The add-on will appear as a menu item:
Honeyed Words Author Tracker.
On first use (or install), you'll be guided through the onboarding wizard to personalize your setup.

Onboarding Wizard
When you install or first activate the add-on, the onboarding wizard will appear. This helps you set up your writing tracker quickly and accurately.
Steps:
1. Personalization:
Enter your author name.
Name your tracking spreadsheet (or link an existing Google Sheet for advanced users).
2. Reminders & Goals:
Optionally enable writing reminders (choose interval in minutes).
Set a daily word count goal and a total book word goal.
3. Theme Selection:
Choose a motivational theme (colors/icons) for your dashboard and menus.
4. Finish:
Celebrate your setup—confetti will mark your ready-to-write status!
You can re-run this wizard anytime from the Help tab.

Main Features
Tracking Sessions
Start Tracking:
Click "Start Tracking" in the add-on menu or quick actions. This logs the current word count and time, beginning a writing session.
End Tracking:
Click "End Tracking" to record session end, word count, and calculate stats like words written, session time, and words per hour.
The tracker logs each session in a linked Google Spreadsheet (you can change or relink your tracker sheet in Settings).
Live Monitor Tab
The Monitor tab shows:
Words Today: Tracked session word count for the current day.
Total Words in Doc: Live word count in your Google Doc.
Avg. Words/Hour: Average writing speed across sessions.
Total Time on Book: Sum of all tracked session times.
Goal Progress Bar: Visual indicator of daily goal achievement.
Automatic Refresh Controls: Enable/disable live updates and set interval.
Analytics Tab
Visualize your writing trends:
Book Goal Progress: See percentage completion toward your total word goal.
14-Day Trend: Line chart of daily word counts over the last two weeks.
Sessions by Day: Horizontal bar chart showing all sessions in the past 7 days (click for details).
Celebrate when you hit 100% of your book goal!
Settings Tab
Customize your experience:
Author Name: For personalizing dashboards.
Tracker Spreadsheet Title: Name or relink your tracking sheet.
Reminders: Enable/disable and set interval.
Daily/Book Goals: Adjust goals as your project evolves.
Theme: Instantly preview and apply motivational themes.
Startup Message: Optionally display a welcome message on load.
Themes & Personalization
Choose from a rich variety of themes (colors/icons) to motivate your writing.
Instantly preview themes in the sidebar.
Theme selection updates all menus, dashboards, and icons.

Subscription & Pro Features
Free users:
Can track sessions, view basic status, and use core features.
Pro (Subscribed) users:
Unlock Monitor tab (live updates), Analytics tab (charts/trends), advanced settings and themes.
Subscribe via the Upgrade to Pro button in the sidebar or from the Google Workspace Marketplace.
Already subscribed? Simply reload the document for features to unlock.

Troubleshooting & FAQs
I can't see the add-on menu:
Try reloading the document. Google can sometimes delay menu updates after install.
Tracking doesn't start/stop:
Ensure your Google Doc is editable. Check that your tracker spreadsheet is linked and accessible.
Monitor/Analytics tabs show errors or no data:
Make sure at least one writing session has been tracked.
Check that your tracking spreadsheet is correctly linked and not deleted.
Theme/icons not updating:
Try reloading the sidebar or the document. Settings are cached for performance.
How do I change my tracker spreadsheet?
Go to Settings and use the "Change Tracker Spreadsheet" button.
Can I reset all settings?
Yes! Use the "Reset to Defaults" button in the Settings tab.
